Words that make me smile

I like it when Bible translations use pithy words like crumbly and scum.

Don't you?

but when some of the teachers of religious law who were pharisees saw him eating with people like that, they said to his disciples, "why does he eat with such scum?" (mark 2:16 NLT)

thank you for coming to the open house today! :)

It's not biblical, but it reminds me when Eric was in kindergarten, he told me his art teacher looked like a witch. I asked him what he meant and he told me "her fingernails are long and red, and her face is all crumbly". I guess crumbly is the right word in lots of situations!

I guess old bread is crumbly and so are old faces!
